Dennis and Cindy Wiles will be celebrating 25 years of service at First Baptist Church in Arlington on Sunday, Aug. 30. Wiles began serving as senior pastor in August 2001. He and his wife, Cindy, moved to Arlington from Huntsville, Ala. While at First Baptist Arlington, he paved the way for a new counseling center, a welcome center, an adjacent property within downtown Arlington, and expanding local and international ministry efforts.
Michael Evans Sr., pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield, celebrated 35 years of pastoral ministry. During this time, Evans served two terms as BGCT president and later was elected mayor of Mansfield, where he has also served two terms. He also served as director of African American Ministries for the Baptist General Convention of Texas. Evans has been active in educational leadership, serving on the board of the Mansfield Independent School District from 2007 to 2016, including two years as board president; and on the Baylor University Board of Regents.
Bryan Houser retired as director of missions for the Amarillo Area Baptist Association. Before joining the association, Houser was minister of missions at Shiloh Terrace Baptist Church in Dallas. Prior to that, he was a missionary for 15 years with the International Mission Board in Botswana and Namibia in southern Africa.
