Texans on Mission sent mobile units to Mineral Wells after Tuesday night’s storms caused multiple injuries and significant damage to homes and businesses.

Volunteers will assist in clean-up with a box team and chainsaws to clear out brush and debris from downed trees and property damage.

In response to the storms that produced tornadoes Saturday in Runaway Bay, about 40 miles northeast of Mineral Wells, Texans on Mission gave out more than 1,000 boxes.

In Springtown, just southeast of Runaway Bay, chainsaw crews cleared trees from roofs and removed hazardous limbs and debris also caused by a tornado on Saturday.

On Monday morning, a shower and laundry unit was sent to a Red Cross shelter in that area, with the capacity to serve up to 60 people.

Two deaths and reports of injuries were confirmed from Saturday evening’s storms. However, no deaths were confirmed from the Mineral Wells storm that left many injured.

The storm left homes demolished, roofs torn open, and debris scattered on neighborhood streets.

The National Weather Service assessed the area and determined an EF-3 tornado touched down in the area, according to WFAA-TV.

An EF-3 hit Rio Vista in Johnson County, said the National Weather Service.
