Love as God loves

When we pulled up to the orphanage and got out of the car, I almost started crying.

I could hear the kids in the chapel, but I couldn’t see them yet. We walked in, and I saw the orphans at Casa Hogar Alegre the very first time.

Watching the kids, I find myself thinking it’s like children’s church or a weeklong VBS.

But it’s not, because at the end of the day, they don’t have a home to go back to, a dad to hug them or a mom to cook their special favorite dinner. And I can’t even imagine it.

Father, show me and teach me your heart for these orphans. I want to love them like you love and yearn for them. God, I ask that these kids would see your love and come to know the hope you bring to this life.

God I praise you as king forever and ever. You are sovereign over this place and the orphanage. You are King, even over the orphans. Especially over the orphans.
