Greater than my comprehension

We went to a church where the preacher spoke—and everyone worshiped—in Creole. My first thought was that the Haitians were praising a deity who only spoke Creole. It was a dumb thought, I realize.

In my mind, I pictured God facing the English-speaking people, enjoying our praise. Then he turned around and listened to the Creole-speaking people, enjoying their praise. It was just really hard for me to wrap my mind around the fact that God speaks all languages and understands all people.

In reality, I was picturing God as a human with human mentality. Once I realized that God is so much greater then what my mind can comprehend, I got a glimpse of what heaven will be like. I cannot wait for the day when all nations will gather together in all different languages to praise the King.
