Letters: When theft is not a crime: A Christian approach to poverty

RE: Voices: When theft is not a crime: A Christian approach to poverty

This article seems to go down the pitted road of “the individual isn’t to blame, society is.” Each of us is responsible for the decisions we make. While our circumstances in society can be difficult, it cannot be society’s fault when we as individuals choose to break the laws of society or of God’s laws. This doesn’t mean we should take poverty in our society lightly. We must, as Christians and as a nation, take poverty as a serious problem and do our best to help those suffering in poverty.
