CARACAS, VENEZUELA—The National Baptist Convention of Venezuela deployed a humanitarian aid operation under the name “Baptist Immediate Response” following the powerful twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela on June 24, resulting in over 3,000 deaths and counting. 

The organization released reports on the response efforts following 10 continuous days of operations and a total of 2.8 tons of humanitarian aid in the hardest hit areas, stating 3,457 people received assistance across the prioritized states: La Guaira, Caracas, Carabobo, and Miranda.

The initial assistance report recorded 935 families benefited from food kits, 728 assisted via hydration stations, and 660 hygiene kit units distributed.

Reports also indicated 632 people were evaluated and treated through direct medical care and 242 children received comprehensive, prioritized care. 

Field deployment involved the participation of 82 volunteers and 18 international volunteers working in 23 shelters and overnight centers arranged to house affected families. 

The National Baptist Convention of Venezuela is a Baptist denomination affiliated with the Baptist World Alliance, with headquarters in Caracas. It consists of a network of over 725 churches and approximately 45,000 to 48,000 members. The denomination frequently partners with organizations like Send Relief for community outreach and disaster response.
