Books needed for seminary in prison. The Heart of Texas Foundation is seeking donated libraries from retired pastors to build a library for the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary extension inside the Darrington Unit of the Texas Department of Criminal Justice, near Rosharon. The foundation hopes to build a theological library for the seminary extension that will meet accrediting agency standards, Chairman Grove Norwood said. The library particularly needs theological reference books such as lexicons and concordances, reference books related to courses in biblical studies offered by the seminary and general resources on pastoral ministry. Any other Christian books that do not meet the criteria for the theological library will be donated to the general prison library, Norwood noted. Texas Baptist Men volunteers will pick up and deliver libraries to the seminary for cataloging. For more information, contact Norwood at (281) 850-8103 or email grove@heartoftexasfoundation.org.
Church loan workbook available online. Baptist Credit Union has produced a workbook to help churches before they borrow funds from any lending institution. The workbook can be downloaded at www.baptistcu.org by clicking the icon on the bottom of the left menu bar of the web page. Orr also is available for seminars to help church leaders prepare before they seek a loan. Contact him at (830) 608-0696, ext. 114, or email rorr@baptistcu.org.
