Texas Tidbits: Trull honored

Maston Foundation honors Trull. The T.B. Maston Foundation honored Joe Trull, a retired college and seminary professor, pastor and editor of Christian Ethics Today, with its 2013 ethics award. Speakers at the award banquet at Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas included eight former doctoral students of Maston, who taught Christian ethics at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary across four decades. They repeatedly emphasized how Maston provided a model for following the will of God, serving others and practicing Christian courage.

Results of the July Texas Bar exam show Baylor Law School with a 97.52 percent pass rate. At No. 2 is the University of Texas at Austin with a pass rate of 95.52 percent. The state’s overall passage rate among those who took the bar exam for the first time was 86.05 percent. Texas has nine law schools, and since 2001, Baylor Law has been No. 1 on 18 of 25 bar exams given.
