  N.C. church, pastor minister after nursing home shooting

  First Baptist Church in Carthage, N.C., designed its fellowship hall to be used in a disaster. But church leaders expected it would be a hurricane or a flood — not a mass shooting at a local nursing home. Officials used the hall March 29 to talk to about 300 people who had relatives at the nearby Pinelake Health and Rehab facility, where a gunman killed eight and wounded two others earlier in the day.
