Jessica Rogers, a Hardin-Simmons University sophomore volleyball player, died in a car accident Aug. 9. She would have turned 21 Sept. 7.

Japan continues slow rebuilding, recovery process after disaster
A 12-member Baptist General Convention of Texas disaster recovery team recently spent a week in Sendai, Japan, providing follow-up care to Japanese tsunami victims. Rebuilding has been slow, they report, and pain, sadness and suffering linger among survivors.
