Obituary: Jack Chastain

Jack Chastain Jr., 83, April 21 in Longview. A graduate of Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he was associate pastor of three Louisiana churches. Jack ChastainHe was pastor of First Baptist Church in Edinburg and Morgan Avenue Baptist Church in Corpus Christi. He was director of missions for Brazoria County until his retirement. At the time of his death, he was a member of First Baptist Church in Longview, where he taught a men’s Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years, Carolyn, in 2009. He is survived by his son, Jay; daughter, Kay Thiele; five grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
