Edwin Allen Seale of Deming, N.M., former Texas Baptist minister and military chaplain, died March 25. He was 91. Seale was born in Houston on May 12, 1929, to David Allen Seale and Mary Glazner Seale but grew up in Teague. While working on his undergraduate degree at Baylor University, he met Joyce Carolyne Langston., to whom he was married 68 years. He earned Bachelor of Divinity and Master of Religious Education degrees from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth. He was pastor of churches in Mexia, Garland and Sanger. In 1958, he joined the U.S. Army, serving as a 1st lieutenant in the chaplain corps. He served at Dallas Baptist College, Ouachita Baptist University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is survived by his wife Joyce; daughter Carol Seale Derden and her husband Preston; son Edwin Mark Seale and his wife Becky; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and siblings Monty Jo Seale Dunn, Robert David Seale and Michael Henry Seale.
