Celebrating Churches: Pastor Fields reaches ministry milestone

Joe Fields is celebrating a milestone of 25 years in vocational ministry, and 17 years as senior and founding pastor of New Beginnings Church in Lewisville. Michael Evans Sr., senior pastor of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Mansfield, will be the guest speaker for afternoon worship Sunday, May 3. During his 25 years in ministry, Fields was youth minister at Westside Baptist Church in Lewisville; director of Camp Exalted, a BGCT-sponsored camp for African American youth; served two terms as first vice president of the Baptist General Convention of Texas; and served on the Baptist Standard board of directors, among other leadership roles.

Iglesia Bautista Central in Fort Worth is celebrating 55 years as a congregation. Hector Mendez serves as pastor and has led the church for a total of 20 years.
