Around the State: HSU honors outstanding young alumni; HPU scholarship luncheon slated
Hardin-Simmons University’s board of young associates honored three former students as outstanding young alumni—Matt Chandler, lead teaching pastor of The Village Church, a multisite congregation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, and president of the Acts 29 Network; Cristel Camacho, a postdoctoral research fellow with St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.; and Starr (Brockmeier) Hoffman, head of planning and assessment at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas.
Donna Clark-LoveDonna Clark-Love will be the featured speaker at the Howard Payne University Woman’s Club Yellow Rose Scholarship Luncheon, April 14, at 11:30 a.m. in the Mabee University Center. Clark-Love, an HPU alum and licensed chemical dependency counselor, is an internationally recognized trainer and motivational speaker in the areas of bully prevention, family systems and mediator/conflict resolution. Luncheon tickets are $25 each and may be purchased online here or in person at HPU’s Harrison House, 803 Center Avenue in Brownwood. Sponsorships are available for $1,000 or $500 and include tickets for eight and a reserved table.
