The Texas Baptist Handbell Festival will be Nov. 7-8 at Shearer Hills Baptist Church in San Antonio. It’s an opportunity for youth and adult bell choirs from around the state to come together in a mass choir setting with emphasis on music preparation, skill development and the use of handbells in ministry and worship. The festival concludes Saturday afternoon with a public concert featuring massed ringing. Hart Morris is clinician.
East Texas Baptist University named Tafadzwa 
East Texas Baptist University homecoming King Tafadzwa Charuma and Queen Anna Alonzo were crowned by interim President Lawrence Ressler.Charuma of Harare, Zimbabwe, king and Anna Alonzo of Marshall queen during homecoming festivities. ETBU lost the football game to Howard Payne University, 54-53.
Dallas Baptist University has named Shelly Melia administrator of the master of arts in children’s and family ministry degree programs. She served 18 years as minister to young families at First Baptist Church in Burleson, where she and her family still attend.
