Baptists Preaching is a column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Likewise, Baptists Preaching offers a repository of Baptist preaching for future study and research. Nataly Mora: You Are the Church. Be the Church. (Ephesians 4:1-16)
Nataly Mora, associate pastor of Park Lake Drive Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, begins with a famous story about responsibility. She considers Paul’s instruction to the Ephesian church in three points. He told them to walk—live—in gratitude, to be contributors rather than consumers, and to share responsibility for the work of the church. Mora expands on each point, providing exposition and sharing examples from her life and the life of the church. She concludes with a charge to her hearers.
This sermon was delivered on Jan. 19, 2020, during the morning worship service at Park Lake Drive Baptist Church in Waco, as part of the series “Clear Expectations.” The outline for this sermon is available here.
