Baptists Preaching is a column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Likewise, Baptists Preaching offers a repository of Baptist preaching for future study and research. To recommend a sermon to be featured in Baptists Preaching, please contact eric.black@baptiststandard.com.

Jorge Zayasbazan: Our Duty to God (Luke 17:1-10)

Jorge Zayasbazan, senior pastor of Baptist Temple in San Antonio, Texas, preaching from Jesus’ teaching recorded in Luke 17:1-10, exhorts his congregation to remember their duty to God. Christians are not to be a stumbling block between anyone and the Lord. Christians are to forgive and to keep on forgiving. These are things expected of Christians in keeping with the example of Jesus, who came to serve and to give his life. Sermon outline is available here.

This sermon was delivered on Oct. 13, 2019, during the morning worship service at Baptist Temple in San Antonio. Luke 17 was part of the lectionary reading for the first two Sundays of Oct. 2019.
