Baptists Preaching is a new column from the Baptist Standard. It is not an effort to advance any one theology or style but to present what a collection of Baptists considers a word from God. Likewise, Baptists Preaching offers a repository of Baptist preaching for future study and research. To recommend a sermon to be featured in Baptists Preaching, please contact eric.black@baptiststandard.com.

Erin Conaway: Peekaboo (Isaiah 6:1-8)

Erin Conaway, pastor of Seventh and James Baptist Church in Waco, Texas, explores the idea of object permanence, comparing it to our ability to see the truth about things even when they are not right in front of us, things such as our own involvement in the sins of our society.

This sermon was delivered during the morning worship service at Seventh and James on May 27, 2018, the First Sunday after Pentecost according to the Revised Common Lectionary. Isaiah 6:1-8 was the Old Testament reading for that Sunday.

Sermon transcript is available here.
